Going to one of the mountain republics to collect folklore, student Shurik falls in love with pretty Nina, an athlete, an excellent student, a Komsomol member and just a beauty. However, a gang of three kidnaps a girl to force her into marriage. Realizing what is happening, Shurik bravely rushes to free the Caucasian captive.
