In the first month since the start date of accepting applications within the framework of the competition program of the first Antares International Film Festival, 367 applications were received from directors from all over the world. The film festival will be held from June 25 to June 30 in Sochi.
Note that more than half of these films are short length. There will be 4 prize nominations at the film festival within the framework of the main competitions: full-length feature films, short films, documentaries and animated films. The 6 largest cinemas in Sochi will host an out-of-competition screening of the film festival.
People’s Artist of Russia Elena Tsyplakova, among the jury members, heads the jury of the film festival: Chinese director Liu Mingxiu, director of the Central House of Cinematographers of Russia Ekaterina Golovnya, actor and director Rustam Sagdullaev. A red carpet with the participation of such Russian screen stars as Natalia Varley, Larisa Luzhina, Ekaterina Shpitsa, Evelina Bledans, Ivan Kokorin, Anastasia Ryseva and many others, will accompany the film festival. The stars of Western cinema also received their invitation to the film festival: Emir Kurturica, Gerard Depardieu, Ornella Muti and Steven Seagal.
The festival will host the premiere screening of the film almanac "Safe Work", which includes short feature films "Har Hat", "Taxi Driver", "Petrovich", "Trainee" and "First Aid with Anfisa Chekhova", which starred the stars of Russian cinema.
The International Film Festival, as well as the Safe Work film almanac, were created on the initiative of the Safety and Quality Association. One of the films, Petrovich, which is included in the film almanac, has already received its first award at the Russian festival of domestic cinema "Chernorechye Fest", in Dzerzhinsk, in the nomination of "For a creative approach to OSHA". Gennady Ivanov directs the film.
Applications for the film festival started on February 1 and will end on May 10. The partners of the project are: the administration of the resort city of Sochi, the Rossiya-24 Sochi TV channel, the Sochi Concert and Philharmonic Association "Winter Theater", the Institute of Advanced Training "Technoprogress", the film school A. Mitta, the Courson educational platform and the Media Center of the Safety and Quality Association.
