The delegation of the Antares International Film Festival, led by Alexander Khalimovsky, President of the screening, and Andrey Afrin, Director, took part in the program of the 79th Cannes International Film Festival and its business sessions. Representatives of the forum attended presentation events and the International Festival Hub, located on the famous Croisette Embankment.
The visit of the Antares delegation to Cannes was marked by a series of strategic negotiations and creative meetings. During the business program of the Marché du Film film market, the festival leaders held consultations with producers, directors and representatives of the largest screenings from around the world. The culmination of the work in the Festival Hub was the invitation of a wide range of participants and guests of the Cannes Film Forum from different parts of the world to visit Moscow — on the days when the capital of Russia will host competitive and non-competitive screenings of Antares.
The key result of the dialogue on the Cote d'Azur was an agreement in principle on a significant expansion of the geography of the competition. Following the meetings, it was confirmed that films from more than 10 countries will be presented in the competition for the main prizes of Antares. This coverage makes the Moscow Festival one of the most representative platforms for intercultural dialogue in the field of cinematography.
