On September 25, immediately before the closing ceremony of the III Antares International Film Festival, the final meeting of the jury of all five competitions was held at the Moscow Festival Center. The jury members took part in it, some in person and some remotely, in order to determine the winners of the review in an atmosphere of lively dialogue.
The judging panels were headed by recognized masters of cinematography: Natalia Uglitskikh (feature film competition), Mark Gorobets (short film competition), Vladimir Karachevsky (documentary film competition), Anna Karpova (animated film competition) and Eduard Zholnin (screenplay competition). The full list of the jury members is available on the official website of the festival.
A key feature of the current judging process has become unprecedented technological transparency. Before the meeting, individual evaluation protocols for each film were uploaded to each member of the jury from his personal account, and summary voting tables with scores according to 10 criteria were uploaded to the chairmen. This allowed the meeting participants to see the full picture of the ratings, promptly discuss controversial issues and make informed decisions on all nominations.
The president of the film festival, Alexander Alexandrovich Halimovsky, took part in the work of the final meeting. He listened to the feedback and opinions of the jury members about the entries and the festival itself, thanking the judges for their professional and honest work.
Many members of the jury noted that it was the first time they had encountered such an open and fair judging system. According to them, such a format not only increases confidence in the results, but also sets a new standard for the festival movement.
Thanks to the well-coordinated work of the jury and a new approach to summing up the results, information about the winners of the III Antares International Film Festival was prepared as quickly as possible and announced at the closing ceremony. The festival ended on a high note, and the names of the winners became known to the audience and participants on the same evening.
