On June 25, the grand opening of the I International Antares Film Festival took place, which was held at the Sochi Winter Theater. The ceremony was attended by guests from 29 countries, stars of Russian cinema and show business, as well as media representatives and photographers.
The opening program of the film festival included a gathering of guests, a Red Carpet ceremony, the presentation of the jury members and participants of the film festival program, as well as the organizing committee: the President of the film festival – Alexander Halimovsky and the executive Director of the film festival – Andrei Afrin and many others. The movie stars performed their favorite songs from the movies.
"We are interested in bringing information and popularization of professions to people through films. We hope that our film festival will find its audience," Alexander Halimovsky stressed.
The red Carpet of the film festival was visited by such Russian film stars as Evelina Bledans, Artyom Mikhalkov, Svetlana Nemolyaeva, Olga Kabo, Nina Shatskaya, Sergey Shakurov and others. Nikas Sofronov, Grigory and Lyubov Potocki, Alyona Sviridova, the Pesnyary and Yalla groups were also present at the opening of the film festival.The opening film was the Russian film "There and Back" directed by V. Rudak, genre — melodrama. The film tells the story of an eleven-year-old boy, Mitya, who is struggling with an illness and ends up in the hospital where he meets Marina, a rebellious girl. They escape and go to look for a place where wishes are fulfilled — a Crooked Cape.
Also, competitive and out-of-competition screenings of films, as well as Russian and foreign premieres, will be held until the end of the film festival.
