The Organizing Committee of the III International Film Festival “Antares” has announced the appointment of the Chairperson of the Festival Jury and the Competition of Full‑length Fiction Films. She is Natalya Uglitskikh — a Russian director, screenwriter, producer, educator, member of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation, the Guild of Film Directors of Russia, and the Russian Union of Writers.
Natalya Uglitskikh is the author and director of more than 30 fiction, television, and documentary films and series. Among them, Natalya directed the short films “Intern” and “Taxi Driver” from the well‑known film almanac “Safe Work”. Her numerous projects have been produced with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Cinema Fund, and federal TV channels, and her films have repeatedly been participants and laureates of Russian and international film festivals.
For more than twenty years, Natalya Uglitskikh has been training young filmmakers. She teaches directing at the Alexander Mitta Film School and at the Higher Courses for Screenwriters and Directors, and is the author of her own practice‑oriented teaching methodology. More than a thousand students have gone through her educational programmes, many of whom are now successfully working in the film industry.
Natalya Uglitskikh is actively engaged in educational and social activities: she gives public lectures and master classes, advises young filmmakers, and helps emerging authors in their professional development. She has repeatedly taken part in the work of juries at various film festivals, as well as in educational and business programmes of professional forums.
The III International Film Festival “Antares” will take place in Moscow from September 12 to 25, 2026. It is the only film festival in the world fully dedicated to the Working Person and the diversity of professions. The festival will combine competitive, business, and non‑competitive programmes. This year, “Antares” will be held in a hybrid format for the first time: in addition to offline screenings in Moscow, competition screenings and creative meetings will be broadcast on the digital platform “Antares LIVE”.
The appointment of Natalya Uglitskikh as the Chairperson of the Jury is a well‑deserved recognition of her long‑standing contribution to the development of Russian cinema, the training of young professionals, and the promotion of the director's profession.
