BOMBORA Publishing House has become the book partner of the International Film Festival “Antares” and will provide the festival with 100 copies of the book “How to Make Your First Film. From Idea to Premiere” by director, screenwriter, and producer Natalia Uglitskikh, who this year chairs the festival’s international jury. The books will become a special professional gift to Antares participants and laureates.
“How to Make Your First Film. From Idea to Premiere” was published by BOMBORA in 2025 in the professional series “Film Workshop. Secrets of the Film Industry” and is now available in three formats at once — print, electronic, and audio. The publication is available on the country’s largest book and digital platforms.
This is not a theoretical textbook about cinema, but a practical book written by a working director. Natalia Uglitskikh has more than 30 projects in feature films and series format, work as a screenwriter and producer, and many years of experience teaching directing.
The book guides the reader through the entire path of creating a film — from idea, dramaturgy, and script development to the preparatory period, working with actors, organizing the film set, interaction with film departments, editing, sound, and post-production.
That is why the appearance of this book at Antares acquires special professional meaning: along with recognition for a film already created, festival participants receive a conversation about how the next cinema is made.
The partnership between the Antares IFF and BOMBORA connects cinema, professional education, and book culture — and continues one of the festival’s important tasks: not only to celebrate the best works, but also to create an environment for the development of filmmakers.
